Throughout my professional career, I’ve moved to different cities and navigated the process of buying and selling homes many times. This particular journey marked our 14th home purchase. I share this to provide some context for the story I’m about to tell. An opportunity arose within my company to take on responsibility for a property we owned in Albuquerque. Having never been to Albuquerque, my wife and I were given the chance to spend a long weekend there to get a feel for the city. While planning our trip, we browsed real estate listings and found one property that really caught our eye. Not knowing anyone in Albuquerque, we decided to reach out to the listing agent, Maggie Henderson, to arrange a viewing. We met Maggie and toured the property, which we loved. However, since this was just an exploratory visit, we didn’t make any moves right away. About a month later, when the decision to relocate became official, Maggie reached out to follow up, but unfortunately, the home we had initially seen had already sold. That’s when the search for our perfect home truly began. Over the next two months, Maggie tirelessly guided us through numerous home tours in various parts of Albuquerque. She even went above and beyond by finding us a short-term furnished rental during the holiday season—a task that wasn’t easy, but she made it happen. Having bought and sold many homes over the years, I can confidently say Maggie stands out as one of the best real estate agents I’ve ever worked with. She was always available, always accommodating to our schedule, and consistently provided thoughtful answers to our many questions. She connected us with other professionals to meet our specific needs and, most importantly, made us feel like we had someone truly advocating for us—something that, in my experience, is rare among real estate agents. By the time we found our perfect home, Maggie had shown us countless properties, patiently answered all of our questions, and introduced us to the different corners of Albuquerque. When we finally closed, we joked about how we wouldn’t be spending every weekend together anymore looking at homes.
